Introduction<\/h3>\n

\"\"We are committed to multi-use development.\u00a0 Our vision includes a mixture of retail, commercial, residential, and multi-use projects.\u00a0 We hope to make each offering a venue that we would personally enjoy using.\u00a0 Our desire is to be unique while also esteeming the values of our community and our heritage.\u00a0 We want to maintain a long term focus but we also want to accomplish something in the near term.\u00a0 We want to explore innovative ideas both for design and construction.\u00a0 Most importantly, we want to be good stewards of the resources we have available.<\/p>\n

Sense of Community<\/h3>\n

Moore has a long history of neighbors helping neighbors.\u00a0 In recent times perhaps the most notable event of neighbors helping each other was the tornado on May 3, 1999, but that\u2019s just one very significant example that made the news.<\/p>\n

Well before that there were many stories of neighbors helping neighbors.\u00a0 There wasn\u2019t much required to receive neighborly help either except to have a need and live near someone who could help.\u00a0\u00a0 Since the town wasn\u2019t very big geographically there were a lot more people who claimed Moore than actually lived inside the limits.<\/p>\n

Many of these people, maybe most, felt they could put forth an opinion and that it actually mattered.<\/p>\n

And it mattered because there was an emotional connection.<\/p>\n

So we want to develop Fritts Farm in a way that encourages and preserves that sense of community.<\/p>\n

Win Win<\/h3>\n

We\u2019ve never believed that were in competition with our surrounding neighbors.\u00a0 One of the things my father, Alton Fritts, tried to teach me again and again was to keep my focus on my own business and let others tend to theirs.<\/p>\n

Stephen Covey describes this thinking in his The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People as habit #4 Thinking Win Win.\u00a0 This is in such sharp contrast to the win lose thinking that seems so prevalent in our society now.<\/p>\n

In practical terms for us this has meant rejoicing in the successes of our neighboring developments and opening ourselves to the new opportunities those successes mean for our own development.<\/p>\n

Natural Growth<\/h3>\n

\"\"Sometimes this idea is called organic growth or sustainable growth.\u00a0 It is the concept that the present needs of the enterprise should be met without compromising the future.<\/p>\n

For us this means waiting on opportunities and then taking advantage of them rather than trying to force things to happen.<\/p>\n

As an example of how this has worked for us there was a time not long after Home Depot\u2019s opening that we explored building a small retail center in front of the store on 19th Street.\u00a0 But we were unable to secure leases at a rate that allowed us to build the kind of structure we wanted.\u00a0\u00a0 Four years later we tried again and this time we were successful.<\/p>\n
